A man was taken to safety following an incident on a bridge in Preston city centre.
Preston Police confirmed they shut part of the Guild Way (A59) on Saturday evening.
Police were called at 11.11pm to reports of a man being found on the wrong side of the bridge, over the River Ribble.
Following a two-hour stand-off he was safely negotiated down at just before 1am on Sunday (8 July).
The road was reopened and the man was led to safety.
