Heavily drunk and drug driver crashes car in Lea

A driver who was under heavy influence of alcohol and drugs has crashed their car in Lea.

Preston police say the driver had “copious amounts of drink and drugs”.

The collision took place on Sidgreaves Lane, in Lea Town, involving a black Renault car.

The car appeared to have collided with a hedge off the side of a road.

Police arrested the driver at the scene and took them to custody.

During custody, police said the driver blew four times the legal limit.

Thankfully nobody was hurt in the incident.

Lancashire Road Police issued a tweet at 3.15am after the incident, warning drivers about the collision.

They said: “Collision on Sidgreaves Lane, Lea Town. The result of driving after copious amounts of drink and drugs. Driver arrested at scene and blew four times the legal limit in custody. Luckily, nobody hurt.”
