A former Junior Miss Preston has thrown herself out a plane to raise hundreds of pounds for charity.
AdvertisementElli Westwood, did the skydive in memory of Ben Ashworth and to raise money for Rosemere cancer where Ben was cared for.
The 16-year-old met Ben at a number of events and found his five-year battle with bowel cancer an inspiration.
On Monday (2 July) Elli did the jump and raised £1,300.

She said: “He was such a strong, courageous man and he stole so many people’s hearts.
“I always promised I would do this with you and for you, I keeping my word and I’m doing it and I know you’ll be with me.
“Everyone was so lucky to know you and you’ll always be remembered for being that crazy guy who is living his life the way he should do, ill or not. You did amazing and you were amazing.”

Elli represented the city for a year as its Junior Miss Preston and went on to be crowned the first ever Britain’s Junior Miss for her fundraising activities.
