Fishergate Hill reopened following crash

A collision between a pedestrian woman and a bus left Fishergate Hill closed on Monday (9 July) morning.

Preston Police were called to the scene shortly before 8am.

It was reported that the incident, involving a woman in her 60’s, took place near to Preston Railway Station around Fishergate Hill and Corporation Street.

Police closed the road in both directions to deal with the incident, however the injuries do not appear to be serious.

Numerous delays were caused on the surrounding roads.

The road was later reopened at 8.45am.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: “We were called at shortly before 8am today (Monday 9 July ) to reports of a collision between a woman pedestrian in her 60’s and a bus near to the Railway Station on Fishergate in Preston.

“The road was blocked. Fortunately the injuries do not appear to be serious and the road was reopened at 8.45am.”
