A crash through the central reservation of the M6 at Bamber Bridge is continuing to cause delays.
AdvertisementTwo lanes on the M6 southbound remain closed for resurfacing work after ‘daylight inspections’ of the carriageway first-thing on Thursday (19 July) morning.
Highways England and Lancashire Police closed two lanes of the M6 southbound from Junction 30 to Junction 29, and also one lane northbound on the same stretch, following the crash on Wednesday (18 July) evening.
A lorry and a number of cars were involved in the incident which took place around 8pm and led to long delays.
Two lanes southbound remained closed overnight and long delays are expected throughout Thursday morning with only one lane open where the motorway goes past the M61 turn.

There’s also one lane closed on the northbound side whilst the repairs to the barrier are completed.
No one was seriously injured in the crash with police saying a number of people had ‘minor injuries’.
