Runners taking on a 10-mile race around Preston are being offered a free place – as long as they run for a city charity.
Rosemere Cancer Foundation has a number of free places for runners provided they commit to raising £100 for the charity.
The City of Preston Road Race begins at Walmer Bridge Village Hall and is a two-lap race of a very flat, fast, course on Sunday 12 August.
Grants and corporate fundraising manager for Rosemere Cathy Skidmore said: “This event attracts runners of all standards from elite club runners to those running to do their bit for various good causes.
“If anyone is intending to enter but not yet done so and would be prepared to find family, friends and work colleagues willing to sponsor them to run on our behalf, please get in touch. And for anyone who wants to support the event and can’t do the run, but would consider marshalling, please do get in contact. A free City of Preston technical race t shirt is on offer.”
