Kinders Service Station is located at 506-508 Garstang Road, next to the Broughton Inn.

The site is currently a mix use site with a Texaco Petrol Filling Station, MOT Garage and a car show room with a music school to the first floor above the car show room.

An application by Petromex Forecourt Services has been submitted to Preston City Council’s planning department to change the use of the site from a petrol station into a retail site.

It previously had an approval for the demolition of the existing site and the construction of a new retail unit.

If plans go ahead, the new site will include an extension to the existing building, a new driveway and a crossing.

Parking will be created including 19 parking spaces with electric charging points, along with two disabled-access spaces and a child-friendly space.

Developments will also include the removal of canopies and below ground fuel tanks.

The plans suggest that the proposed development will bring a range of benefits in terms of job creation, visual amenity, enhanced roadside facilities for motorists and improvements to operational efficiency of the site and traffic circulation.

Preston City Council is yet to approve the plans.
