Trains between Preston and Carlisle have been suspended due to fallen trees.

Storm Hector is seeing gusts of up to 70mph whizzing through Preston and Lancashire.

Virgin Trains said all services were stopped at Preston and Carlisle.

Disruption is expected until at least lunchtime on the West Coast mainline.

A picture shared by Virgin Trains shows the trees down on the line between Preston and Scotland.
