What’s due to become Preston’s newest hotel opened its doors to the great and the good of the city for a sneak peek.
The Shankly Hotel, being created within the Old Post Office on the Flag Market, held an open evening for those interested.
A new opening date has been set for the boutique hotel which is to be part of the Signature Living chain.
Director Lawrence Kenwright and Chris Shankly Carline, the grandson of Bill Shankly, gave tours of the building.

They stated the opening date is now set for April 2019.
Restoring the building and converting it to be a hotel is due to cost around £15million and once finished there will be room for 350 guests.
A large restaurant is being created with seating for 160 diners.

Around 40 people were taken for a look around parts of the building which is also due to have an event space on the top floor, a roof terrace and a spa in the basement.
