A number of roads in the centre of Preston will be closed during Saturday for the city’s annual Armed Forces Day celebration.
AdvertisementTaking place on the Flag Market the event includes a procession through part of the city centre.
Roads will be closed between 9am and 6pm on Saturday (30 June) in batches depending on the events.
The following roads are closed from 10.30am to 12.30pm.
Lancaster Road – from Old Vicarage to Lord Street
Earl Street – full length
Orchard Street – full length
Friargate – from Market Place to Ringway
Lune Street – full length
Fishergate – from Lune Street to Cheapside
Cheapside – full length

Lancaster Road – from Lord Street to Wards End
The following roads are closed from 8am to 6pm

A very short-term closure for the parade is from 11.45am to 12noon
Church Street – Fishergate to Lancaster Road
Birley Street – from Jacson Street to Fishergate
Diversion routes will be in place throughout the closures and drivers are warned to expect delays.
