Preston weather warning: Storm Hector is expected to hit

A weather warning has been issued for Preston as a windy spell is expected to hit the city.

Storm Hector has been forecast on Thursday 14 June and is expected to bring very strong winds likely to reach up to 50 – 60 mph.

Winds have been predicted to hit between 3am – 3pm.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for the area, with a chance of traffic and travel being affected.

Longer journey times may occur for commuters as road, rail, air and ferry services could be affected.

Winds are expected to gradually decrease from Thursday afternoon.
