Preston weather forecast shows mini-heatwave on the way

A mini-heatwave is on its way to the city with a glorious weather forecast for the next week.

Highs of 27 degrees are expected and Preston will be seeing wall-to-wall sunshine for many days.

A day-by-day forecast is below to help you plan to make the most of the sunshine, after what’s been a more unsettled period with some showers in the city.

Friday (22 June)

Morning – The sun is up at 4.40am and we see bright sunshine from 10am with highs of 16 degrees by mid-day

Afternoon – Highest temperatures from 1pm onwards at 17 degrees and a slight breeze

Evening – A very pleasant Friday evening, perfect beer garden weather, with temperatures dropping to 15 degrees by 7pm

Saturday (23 June)

Morning – There’s sunny intervals throughout the morning and temperatures are up to 15 degrees at lunchtime.

Afternoon – Weather looks good for the comics event on the Flag Market and staying at 16 degrees throughout the afternoon.

Evening – From 7pm it’s staying sunny through to sunset at 9.46pm.

Sunday (24 June)

Morning – A warm morning, up to 18 degrees by 11am.

Afternoon – We hit the 20s by 2pm, and it stays there through to 6pm.

Evening – A sunny evening, temperatures fall to 15 degrees by 10pm.

Monday (25 June)

Morning – Another warm morning, up to 21 degrees by 11am and a sunny and breezy morning.

Afternoon – Highs of 24 degrees are to be hit by 2pm.

Evening – By 8pm its 20 degrees and it won’t drop below 15 degrees overnight.

Tuesday (26 June)

Morning – A scorching day, 24 degrees by 11am, and a sunny morning.

Afternoon – Hitting the high point of the week, 27 degrees from 2pm and continuing throughout a sweltering afternoon.

Evening – A very warm evening, 22 degrees at 8pm.

Wednesday (27 June)

Morning – It’s 17 degrees at 8am and another fantastic morning of sunshine.

Afternoon – 24 degrees at 2pm and staying like that until 6pm.

Evening – A mid-week beer may be needed to cool off, by 8pm it’s a 21 degrees evening.

Thursday (28 June)

Morning – Another bright morning in the city, 20 degrees by 10am.

Afternoon – 3pm and it’s 24 degrees

Evening – Another evening in the 20s, still 20 degrees at 8pm.
