Pictures released after attempted robbery at Preston betting shop

Police are appealing for information after an attempted robbery at a betting shop in Ribbleton.

The incident on Friday (1 June) saw the man jump the counter in Betfred in Blackpool Road.

Around 8.40am the man, who claimed he had a knife, entered the shop and demanded money from the til.

He left empty handed and Preston Police have released CCTV images from the incident.

PC Dan Armstrong said: “This was an extremely frightening experience for the shop assistant who has been left very shaken by the incident.

“Fortunately the man did not manage to steal any money, however we are still very keen to speak to him.”
