A new apartment block could be built on cleared land off in Fulwood.
AdvertisementAn old house was demolished near Savick Brook, off Garstang Road, and now new plans have come forward for a block of flats.
Previous proposals for the site included nine flats, but these proposals – tabled by Paul Erskine, are for 24 flats.
It would create a new access road off Garstang Road and a car park sloping down towards the brook.
The site, near the former Windy Nook car garage, has been empty for more than a year.

Proposals from the developers state: “This is an area of residential development uses and is in close proximity to Preston city centre.
“The redevelopment of this site provides a great opportunity to enhance and improve this area of Preston.”
The flats would be set within a three-storey block and have 32-parking spaces in the car park.

A new footpath would also be put in alongside the brook and car park to allow access to the public open space to the west of the site.
Cadley councillor Claire Craven said: “Whilst in principle housing of this type would be welcome I have raised some questions with council officers.
“These include concerns about whether the building scale would be appropriate to it’s surroundings, whether there will be adequate parking and importantly whether suitable provisions would be made for cars safely turning onto Garstang road.
“In addition I feel that clarification about the flood risk on this plot is needed as the application seems to be based on a location some distance from this plot.”
The full plans can be seen on the city council website and comments can be left there
