Dozens of homeless people were fed by the city’s Muslim community over the weekend.
More than 50 people were fed in a one-off meal on the Flag Market.
Famida Member from the Feed the Homeless group thanked local businesses for their generosity in helping to provide a hot meal.
Refreshment Village, Ignite, Chesters and Nando’s contributed food for the event which saw a sit down meal on the Flag Market.

Pizza, pasta, veg, chicken and chips followed by cakes, doughnuts, chocolates and biscuits were all on the menu.
Fatima said the event was organised to coincide with the period of fasting for Ramadan.
She said: “Each person took away with them a decent-sized bag consisting of fundamentals; this included bottled water, bread, instant food and other essentials.
“We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to organisations for their incredible donations whom without wouldn’t have been possible.
“Thank you all again for your contribution and commitment to our community. Your generosity is an encouraging reminder of why we continue this event year on year.”
Famida also thanked Turner and White solicitors, based in Fulwood, who sponsored the event.

As well as food a barber called Shaz turned up a gave free beard trims and hair cuts to those needing one.
