A leisure centre in Preston has begun to charge for locker use.
AdvertisementFulwood Leisure Centre introduced the new locker system on Wednesday (30 May).
Two types of lockers are now available to use – one set which cost 20p and you don’t get the coin back, and another which can be secured with a padlock.
Previously the locker system took the old-style £1 coins or trolley tokens, which were available from reception. The £1 lockers would return your coin after use.
Better Leisure, which now operates the leisure centres after taking on the buildings and service from Preston City Council, has signs up announcing the change within the leisure centre.

The leisure centre is also selling padlocks for £5 for use with the new lockers or you can bring your own padlock.
A £700,000 refit of the leisure centre is currently ongoing.
