Fire on grass verge near Preston Docks closes road

Traffic was stopped on a major road near Preston Docks during Monday (25 June) lunchtime.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were called to a fire in Ashton-on-Ribble.

Crews put out a fire on a grass verge near McDonalds in Pedders Way/Watery Lane.

The incident around 1pm saw the road closed briefly while crews put out the smouldering.

It’s not known what caused the fire.
