A new three-month long exhibition has launched in the Harris celebrating all things comics.
From the Bash Street Kids to the Beano there’s something for all ages to enjoy.
On the second floor of the museum the Comics exhibition was launched with an event on the Flag Market.
Stalls from comic artists took up pride of place in the sunshine and two fancy dress competition winners were crowned – with spiderman winning the 1.30pm competition. The event was part of the Summer Saturdays, with events taking place each Saturday on the Flag Market throughout the summer.
Here are our brilliant fancy dress competition winners.

As well as original drawings from Preston’s talented comic legend, the late Leo Baxendale, there’s plenty to inspire the children too.
The Harris seems to have learnt a lesson from the Brick Dinos exhibition with far more interactive elements at this exhibition.
You can get the kids dressed up, try out various displays and of course, read some comics too.

There’s also an extensive drawing area where you can let the kids imagination run wild.

The Harris gallery is open from 11am-5pm on Mondays, 10am-5pm on Tuesdays, 10am-8pm on Wednesdays, 10am-5pm on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and from 11am to 4pm on Sundays.
