Preston’s Bank Holiday weather forecast has taken a turn for the wet.
Previously the Met Office was forecasting wall-to-wall sunshine but a dose of Preston reality has crept in.
We now face the prospect of of light showers – although temperatures remain high.
Here’s a run through of the amended forecast as of Thursday (24 May) morning.
Morning
It’s 11 degrees from 6am and there’s sunny intervals throughout the morning with some cloud cover.
Afternoon
The sun breaks through and we’re looking at highs of 21 degrees by 3pm.
Evening
Staying around 19 degrees until 7pm and it’s a sunny evening until sunset at 9.20pm.
Morning
Dawning dry but showers begin around 9am. Temperatures continue to climb though reaching 17 degrees by lunchtime.
Afternoon
Rain showers continue and there’s a slight breeze, highs of 18 degrees at 2pm. The showers stop late afternoon.
Evening
Early evening it’s overcast and temperatures at 17 degrees, before more light showers throughout the evening.
Morning
There’s a high chance of light showers in the early morning, around 6am, before they clear and we can look forward to a mostly dry morning with spells of sunshine. Expect temperatures to be up to 19 degrees by mid-morning.
Afternoon
20 degrees by lunchtime and there’s sunny intervals and a slight breeze throughout the afternoon.

Evening
It’ll be packed in the beer gardens of the city, 20 degrees as people finish work for the Bank Holiday weekend. A warm night, 13 degrees by midnight.

Morning
Another belter of a day in store, 13 degrees at 6am and it’s up to 19 degrees by lunchtime.
Afternoon
23 degrees at 3pm and it’s another afternoon in the garden prospect.
Evening
No work tomorrow, so grab a beer and it’s 18 degrees at 8pm. Relax.

Morning
Traditionally, it is a Bank Holiday, so it should rain. There’s a 10 per cent chance of some rain on Monday morning but temperatures rise as the sun comes out and it’s 17 degrees by lunchtime.
Afternoon
A fine afternoon, with sunny intervals and a slight breeze. 23 degrees highs by 3pm.
Evening
Work beckons, but it’s still beer garden weather, 17 degrees at 10pm.
