Three Preston arts organisations have retained their place in a guide celebrating the best artistic events and organisations across the North of England.
AdvertisementThe Hannah Directory, now in its sixth year, highlights the work done by the Harris Museum and Art Galley, the Birley and In Certain Places.
To mark the achievement The Birley is choosing to launch their latest initiative called The Birley Editions.
It’s a printing, publishing project focussing on limited edition prints, artist books and zines.

Director of the Birley, which is in Birley Street in the city centre, Benedict Rutherford said: “Birley Editions represents selected work from our studio members, associates and partners. We will be showing and selling work at print fairs and other events regionally and nationally to raise the profile of North West based artists.”
Organiser of the Hannah Directory Andrew Wilson said: “Preston is recognised nationally at the moment for its innovative civic culture.
“Its arts organisations have been critical to the development of that culture. For more than a decade they have been showing how partnerships between organisations, a public process of investigation and taking measured risks can be much more productive than just following the same route as everywhere else. Birley Editions will be a new contribution to that unique civic culture.”
