Police break up fight near Preston Market

Police have confirmed they were called to a fight in and around Preston’s new Market Hall.

Reports came in around 4.50pm on Thursday (3 May) about an incident in Earl Street, near the Town Hall and Market.

A spokeswoman for the police told Blog Preston: “There was some kind of fight following an argument inside the new indoor part of Preston Market.”

The incident around 4.50pm saw a police presence outside the market as the fight continued there.

A 42 year old man from Preston was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace and affray. He remains in police custody.
