The new Mayor of Preston has begun his ceremonial role and expect to see him appearing around the city.
Councillor Trevor Hart, a Lea councillor, has taken up the chains from councillor Brian Rollo.
Cllr Hart was first elected in 2008 and is an ex headteacher of Lea Community Primary School.
He was married to his late wife Claire for 34 years but she sadly died of a brain tumour in 2016.

He has chosen this year’s Mayor’s Charity to be Headway Preston, a charity close to his heart following his wife’s battle with cancer.
His daughter Sarah McAlea and a family friend Laura King will be Cllr Hart’s Mayoresses during the civic engagements through the year.
