Gillian Holmes, and her husband, returned home to Lea on Friday (18 May).
Around 5am they parked up and took their two children, aged 10 months and four-years-old, up to bed after a long journey home.
They came back down to find their car had been targeted.
The family have released a CCTV picture and shared the footage on Facebook, following reporting the incident to the police.
Gillian said: “My daughter is heartbroken.
“The suitcase taken includes all of our babies’ clothes, shoes, precious treasured toys and some of my daughter’s birthday presents.
“Her twirly spinny dresses and beautiful new little shiny shoes are all gone.
“It’s good footage and we need help finding him and my baby’s birthday presents.
“I’m hoping someone somewhere has seen or been offered some of our things and has a heart.”
