Part of the former Goss printing site is to become a new office block on the University of Central Lancashire campus.
The university has lodged plans to build The Foundry on part of the site which is predominantly a car park.
Space for 130 staff is being created in the single-storey office.
Clad in grey the building will have a large recycling centre to one side, The Sidings, and a number of dedicated parking spaces.

The 300-space car park was initially temporary but the university made that permanent in the Autumn last year.
The former Goss printing press site was demolished in Autumn 2015.

No parking spaces within the car park are due to be lost by the development which borders Greenbank Street.
