A warning has been issued to drivers using the Broughton bus lane as a short cut – and driving the wrong way down it.
Lancashire County Council have released a CCTV image of a driver been heading northbound on the bus lane.
Bus lane cameras were put in to record motorists using the bus lane, ahead of fines being issued.
But a number of drivers details have now been sent to Lancashire Police following using the bus lane.
Cabinet member for highways and transport Keith Iddon said: “I’m really shocked at this. A small number of drivers are choosing to drive the wrong way along the bus lane.
“There are clear markings on the roads and signing to show people where they should be driving. It could be that people were simply following sat navs or are unfamiliar with the new road layout, but it is concerning that they didn’t see the signs and markings.”
