Biker hurt in Deepdale hit and run

A motorcyclist is in hospital after a suspected hit and run in Deepdale.

Preston Police closed the junction of Blackpool Road and Parkside, near Deepdale Rod, on Monday (21 May) evening.

Around 9.23pm a moped was involved in a crash with a silver saloon car.

The vehicle drove off from the scene with a damaged headlight.

A spokesman for Preston Police said: “A moped and car had collided in Blackpool Road.

“The rider of the moped suffered injuries to his back, neck and legs and was taken by paramedics to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

“The road re-opened around three hours later.”

Police closed the junction for accident investigation work until around 12midnight.
