Bank Holiday Sunday traffic delays in and around Preston

Preston’s road network is experiencing long delays as everyone heads for the Coast.

The M6 from Junction 29 northbound is seeing delays of more than 30 minutes up to Junction 32.

The M55 westbound is particularly heavy heading out towards Blackpool.

Update: As of 3.50pm on Sunday (6 May) the M6 is looking much clearer

Routes through Preston itself are becoming congested as drivers seek alternative routes.

London Way near the Capitol Centre is bumper-to-bumper heading into the city centre.

Preston North End have been finishing their Championship season against Burton Albion which is also seeing busy traffic around Deepdale.

Garstang Road heading up into Fulwood and the Broughton roundabout is also seeing 10-minute delays and congestion.
