Two teenagers have been arrested after a burglary and police chase across Penwortham and Broadgate.

Eyewitnesses reported a large police presence, including mounted officers and the police helicopter, across both areas throughout Tuesday (17 April) afternoon.

Police were called to reports of a burglary in Crabtree Avenue in Penwortham around 12.50pm.

The offenders had entered the property and were disturbed and made off from the scene.

A police search ensued and two boys were arrested.

The teenagers, both from Bamber Bridge, aged 15 and 16, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and are currently in custody.

It is understood another property was also targeted in Cherry Wood as well as the Sainsbury’s in Penwortham.
