Road closures confirmed for Preston’s St George’s Day parade

Preston will belatedly mark St George’s Day with a parade during Sunday (29 April).

Preston City Council is warning motorists of a number of road closures during the morning.

Between 10am to 11am the roads listed below will all be closed off.

Only vehicles involved in the procession or emergency vehicles will be allowed to travel along the route.

Orchard Street, Cheapside, Market Place, Market Street and Early Street are all closed for their full length.

Friargate will be shut from the junction with Orchard Street to the junction with Market Street.

Birley Street will be closed from the junction with Earl Street to the junction with Harris Street.

Lancaster Road will be closed from the junction with Lord Street to the junction with Wards End.

Signed diversion routes will be in operation throughout the city centre.
