Police have issued CCTV footage of a man wearing a cap they want to speak to.
A pensioner was burgled in Whittle-le-Woods at around 2.15am on Tuesday (10 April).
A man entered the property in Town Lane and took cash and bank cards from a purse.
An 80-year-old woman, the home owner, disturbed the intruder, who made off from the scene.
Lancashire Police say one of the bank cards was later used at a garage in Preston Road and then again at a McDonalds at the Capitol Centre.
