Fans of the rapidly-growing mixed martial arts scene are to get their own dedicated TV show – and it’s produced in Preston.
Branded as Sharefight presents: The UK Fighting Championships, the ‘Match of the Day’ style show is being aired on a sports channel available on Sky and Freesat.
The brainchild of final year TV student Samuel Liles and TV production course leader Adam Robson the show is a 10-part series.
Airing on Front Runner the 30-minute shows include clips, interviews and more and is all shot at the University of Central Lancashire.
Samuel said: “MMA is huge around the world but there’s nothing like it out there for such a rapidly growing sport.
“Thanks to Adam’s massive influence and industry contacts we’ve been able to put into action what we’ve talked about for ages. To have the programmes broadcast on a national platform is incredibly exciting, absolutely fantastic and is a great end to my University life.”

MMA bouts have taken place at Preston Guild Hall previously.
Adam said: “It’s the first televised TV sports series created by UCLan so it’s a fantastic achievement for everyone involved in the project. I’m immensely proud of this work because it’s industry quality and that is being recognised on a national level.”

You can watch the show on Fridays at 10pm on Sky channel 468 and Freesat channel 250.
