Located at Moor Park, Pretty Muddy Kids and Pretty Muddy will take place on Saturday 16 June, with the 5k and 10k taking place on Sunday 17 June.

Cancer Research UK is calling on women in Preston to enter Race for Life 2018.

You can push yourself further by entering the women-only half marathon with seven events taking place across the UK including a brand-new event at Cholmondeley Castle, Cheshire on Sunday 22 July.

Sarah Hunter, Cancer Research UK’s Preston Event Manager, said:

“Many of us watch the Virgin Money London Marathon on TV and feel hugely motivated by the inspiring stories and unwavering determination of the participants.

“This year, we’re encouraging women to follow the lead of the marathon runners and take on their own fitness challenge by signing up to Race for Life in Preston.

“Women of all shapes, sizes, ages and abilities can take part, whether they’re planning a 5k walk with friends, a 10k jog or the challenge of a half marathon, it’s not about being first to the finish line; it’s about coming together to beat cancer sooner.”

The events raise millions of pounds every year to help beat cancer sooner by funding crucial research for Cancer Research UK scientists to find new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat the disease.

One in two people in the UK will be diagnosed with cancer at some stage in their lives, but more people are surviving the disease now than ever before.

Cancer survival in the UK has doubled since the early 1970s and Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress.

Sarah continued: “Every day, 110 people are diagnosed with cancer in the North West.

“That’s why we’re urging women in Preston to sign up right now at raceforlife.org.

“By signing up to Race for Life, women across Preston will make a real difference in the fight against cancer.”

You can enter Race for Life today by visiting the website or calling 0300 123 0770.
