Man in hospital after falling from bridge onto the M6 at Preston

A man remains in hospital receiving treatment after falling from a motorway bridge at Preston.

Preston Police shut the M6 in both directions around 10.15pm on Sunday (1 April).

The carriageway was closed between Junction 31A and Junction 31.

The man fell from the bridge, in Longridge Road, onto the carriageway below.

The northbound carriageway reopened shortly after 11pm while the southbound carriageway remained closed until just before midnight.

Longridge Road was also closed during the incident.

The man’s condition or injuries are not yet known.
