Man in hospital after becoming trapped under car in Penwortham

Firefighters had to rescue a man after he was in danger of being crushed by a car.

Emergency services were in Queenscourt Avenue on Easter Sunday afternoon.

Around 4.14pm firefighters from Chorley, Bamber Bridge and Penwortham were sent to help the man.

His leg had become trapped under the wheel of a car that had rolled back on him.

An air ambulance was also called out to the road, which is off Kingsfold.

The man was taken to Royal Preston Hospital.

The extent of his injuries is not yet known.
