A beer festival planned for the city during May has been cancelled.

Beer Fest @ Walburges was due to take place from Friday 11 May to Sunday 13 May.

More than 70 beers and ciders from the UK were due to be on offer, alongside live music and food.

The church hall at the iconic St Walburge’s Church was due to be the venue.

A beer festival, the Preston Beer Festival, had been held in the same venue in 2016.

Organiser Simon Crowe said: “It’s with complete Disappointment we have to cancel the Beer Festival at Walburges due to an issue with the venue.

“We hope to stage another close to Christmas.”
