A charity fundraiser is being held in memory of a Preston baby who passed away in January 2015.Advertisement
Anthony Rushe (A.J.), was born in December 2013 and sadly passed away in late January 2015 from Krabbe’s disease.
All proceeds will be going to Derian House Children’s Hospice, to acknowledge and thank them for the work they did taking care of Anthony and his parents during his last days.

A.J. was diagnosed with Krabbes disease at just 6-months-old, and passed away when he was 13 months.
The rare disease destroys the nervous system, making it no longer possible for the children to walk, talk, see, hear, swallow and eventually breathe.
Infants with Krabbes rarely see their second birthday, and children diagnosed with Juvenile Krabbes would usually lose their fight before their twelfth birthday.
AJs Dream has been set up to help raise fundraise and increase awareness of the disease, with more than 31,500 people singing an online petition for changes to new born screening in the UK.
It has also been supported by Lord Alan Sugar, Leigh Francis, Alan Carr, Jason Mansford, Dave Spikey and various musicians, soap stars, sporting personalities and politicians.
AJ’s Dream has already raised over £6000 for Derian House, and following the success of a charity auction held last April, another auction party night has been organised.
It will take place on Saturday 28 April at Lea Club from 7.30pm.

Numerous items will be up for grabs, including a signed Preston North End shirt, a signed Leeds Rhinos shirt, a Hair Perfect voucher, a Flame Spa voucher, family days out package featuring a free one month Wacky Warehouse admission and a 2 for 1 Blackpool Pleasure Beach admission, a Golf watch and many more.
A spokesperson for AJ’S Dream said: “Derian House is a fantastic organisation who supported A.J.s parents impeccably, as they do with so many families of terminally ill children.
“If you could possibly support the event by donating a prize as an auction lot or a prize to raffle it would be greatly appreciated.
“All companies and their donation will be publicised via flyers and at show programmes connected to AJs Dream at the Charter Theatre.”
Tickets for the auction party night are £5 per person, which includes a disco, music, quiz and the auction.
