How one man from Zimbabwe who left during its economic crisis has adapted to Preston features in a short film.
Oga Mabaya came to Preston in 2005 to seek better opportunities with his family.
Since arriving in the UK he dreamt of playing for his adopted rugby club Preston Grasshoppers.
The video, which follows Oga’s journey from struggling to breakthrough and ‘playing for fun’, ends with him making the first team.
He says: “I am no superstar, but I’m the best version of me I can be.”
Rugby has helped Oga to make friends and find a connection in the city. And kept him fit.
Filmed by Garth Dew it’s been seen thousands of time on Facebook.
