Slice of Sicily had applied for a change of use to Preston City Council to allow it to offer a takeout service.

Owner Ettore Criscenti, who expanded to the Garstang Road premises in 2013, said the restaurant would remain open for eat-in meals too.

He said: “We are carrying on as a Bistro but with the takeaway service as well and eventually a delivery service, like we already do in Penwortham.

“This will allow us to expand the delivery area we cover.”

The restaurant applied for an alcohol licence in 2013 – which was objected to by a number of nearby residents – and was successful in adding this.

The change of use application will be considered by Preston City Council’s planning department.
