A new nursery opened this week in Cottam as thousands of new homes are being built around it.

Ashbridge Nursery – who operate in South Ribble – have expanded to the North West Preston site.

A second phase of the £5million development was opened on Monday (12 March) at Maxy House Farm.

The nursery includes a sensory room, large hall area, kitchen garden, outdoor play area and a developing woodland area.

A spokeswoman for the nursery said: “After months of work on this state-of-the-art nursery building we are delighted to be opening the second phase of Ashbridge Nursery at Maxy Farm.

“All our current nursery families are delighted to see the new building and are excited to see their children benefit from the excellent facilities.

“Our focus on outdoor learning and heuristic play is evident by the extensive outdoor play and exploration areas, sensory room and toys and equipment made from natural materials. We are really excited to be part of the developing Cottam community, providing much-needed quality care and education for young families in the area, 52 weeks of the year.”
