New witness appeal following Deepdale hit and run

Police made a fresh appeal for witnesses after a hit and run in Deepdale.

A 10-year-old girl was cycling to a shop in Ribbleton Lane when she was struck by a dark coloured vehicle.

The driver failed to stop at the scene during the incident on Saturday (10 March) at around 7.20pm.

The car had turned off Ribbleton Lane into Hermon Street when it collided with the girl.

She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital and treated for serious leg injuries.

Sergeant Chris Evans said: “Fortunately the girl is now recovering at home with her family, after a few days in hospital, however we do need to speak to the driver of the vehicle.

“If you were in the area and saw the collision, or a small, dark coloured car, please contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting log ref 1300 of March 10.
