The women of Winckley Square are just one of the topics of a new research project about the Georgian gardens in the city centre.
Friends of Winckley Square, Groundwork, University of Central Lancashire and the Lancashire Archives are teaming up to explore the everyday life of people who lived, learned and worked in the Square.
The project looks at the early Victorian era to the late 1900s.
Volunteers are needed to help research the hidden history using archive documents, historic and modern images, art and exhibitions.
