A city mosque is to throw open its doors for an open day during March.

Raza Mosque in St Paul’s Road, Deepdale, is the latest to invite the community in.

Waqas Ahmed said: “Our objective is to give the community from different faiths and backgrounds the chance to gain an insight into their local Muslim community and also to explore the mosque.”

The mosque was built in the 1970s as the city’s first purpose built mosque.

The Raza open day follows the Visit My Mosque Day in February when dozens of people visited three mosques across the city for a look around.

Raza Mosque open day is on Saturday 17 March from 12noon to 2pm.

Anyone wanting to attend is asked to register via Eventbrite.
