Man and woman in hospital after Preston Docks rescue drama

Emergency services were at Preston Docks on Thursday evening as a man and woman were rescued from the water.

Fire crews from Preston, Penwortham and Darwen responded to the calls from members of the public around 9.48pm.

The incident on Thursday (29 March) saw two people in the water in the Marina at Navigation Way.

Members of the public had already come to the aid of the woman in the water and rescued her.

The fire crew launched a rescue boat from the Dock jetty and rescued the man.

The North West Ambulance Service sent crews to assist and the man and woman were treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to Royal Preston Hospital suffering the effect of hypothermia.
