One lane is remaining closed on the M6 to the north of Preston due to a diesel spill.

Highways England is advising drivers to allow extra travel time once north of Junction 32.

The northbound carriageway was shut after an incident involving a lorry around 5am on Thursday (22 March).

It caused delays back to Junction 29 on the M6 as traffic approached the Tickled Trout and Broughton turn offs.

The carriageway needs resurfacing for a stretch between J32 and J33 which is due to be completed overnight. Normal traffic conditions are expected from 6.30pm on Thursday.

A separate incident on the M6 southbound from Junction 31A to Junction 31 is also caused delays after a two-car collision.
