Amended plans for a new housing development in Cottam have been approved.
Taylor Wimpey wants to build 245 new homes off Hoyles Lane in the second stage of a major new housing development.
It’s previously approved outline plan, lodged in 2013, included a number of shops as part of the proposals.
Councillors voted, by a margin of eight to four on the Preston City Council planning committee, to approve this proposal.
Planning officers had recommended the amended scheme for approval.

Planning agents Lichfields stated they wanted to ‘avoid conflict’ with the North West Masterplan which had specified ‘local centres’ including shops, should be part of other developments in the Cottam area.

Four letters of objection to the latest Cottam scheme were received from nearby residents during the application process.
