Amended plans for a new housing development in Cottam have been approved.

Taylor Wimpey wants to build 245 new homes off Hoyles Lane in the second stage of a major new housing development.

It’s previously approved outline plan, lodged in 2013, included a number of shops as part of the proposals.

Councillors voted, by a margin of eight to four on the Preston City Council planning committee, to approve this proposal.

Planning officers had recommended the amended scheme for approval.
