Those trying to head beyond Preston for an Easter getaway have found themselves delayed by an hour or more due to a broken down vehicle.Advertisement
A car and caravan crashed between Junction 32 (Broughton) and Junction 33 (Lancaster).
This snarled up the northbound carriageway heading towards the city and delays quickly built back to Junction 28 on the M6 and back to Junction 8 on the M61 northbound.
Highways England said shortly after 12noon the car and caravan had been recovered and all lanes are now back open on the motorway.
