Winckley Square history tours confirmed for February

A chance to explore the history of Winckley Square has been announced.

The Friends of Winckley Square are running two walking tours round the Georgian Square.

Talks are free and the meeting point is in the centre of the gardens at 2pm.

Patricia Harrison from the Friends group is behind the tours.

She said: “They are a great chance to discover more about your local heritage.

“Winckley Square is Preston’s only Georgian Square and there’s lots of stories to be told.”

The two tours take place on Wednesday 7 February and Sunday 18 February.

The Friends groups is also able to run group tours for friends or colleagues who would like a dedicated guided tour, and this can alo take in the Inside Out Exhibition and lunch or afternoon tea at a Preston cafe.
