Three people have been charged in connection with the death of a toddler in Lostock Hall.

It comes nearly a year after the death of the 19-month-old.

South Ribble Police launched a murder investigation after the girl was being treated by paramedics at Ward Street on Thursday 23 March 2017 at 9.30am.

She was taken to Royal Preston Hospital where she died a short time later.

Lauren Coyle, 19, of Collins Road, Bamber Bridge, Reece Hitchcott, 19, of The Fieldings, Fulwood and Connor Kirby, 20 of Octabia Court, Huyton, have all been charged jointly with causing and allowing the death of a child (manslaughter, section 5 domestic violence act).

All three have also been charged with two counts of neglect.

They are due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (22 February).
