Inside the new Preston Market hall
Details have been given of the entertainment which is taking place this Saturday to mark Preston’s new market opening.
The Market Hall, under the cover of the Outdoor Covered Market, opened on Monday (12 February) and sees more than 25 traders spread across it.
Preston City Council said it will be putting a range of entertainments on throughout Saturdays in February and March to celebrate.
Here’s what they have planned for Saturday (17 February) to keep people entertained while browsing the market stalls.

Scoop the Magician is going to be walking the market from 11am to 1pm.
At 11am to 11.30am there will be Morris Dancers in the Outdoor Market, 11.30am to 12noon a Ukulele Band strikes up at the top of Orchard Street, followed by the Red Rose Band at the same spot from 12noon to 12.30pm.
Kids inside the new Market Hall – there will be plenty on Saturday to entertain them
The Morris Dancers return 12.30pm to 1pm at Birley Street side of the Outdoor Market.
Ukulele’s are back from 1pm to 1.30pm at the top of Orchard Street.
The Red Rose Band perform in the Outdoor Market from 1.30pm to 2pm and and at the same time the Morris Dancers head to the top of Orchard Street.
There’s final performances from the Ukulele Band at 2pm to 2.30pm at the top of Orchard Street and the Red Rose Band close things off at 2.30pm to 3pm at the Birley Street side of the Outdoor Market.

Line ups for Saturday 24 February, Saturday 3 March and Saturday 10 March are still being confirmed.
