Marathons are usually big achievements in themselves, however for a Preston woman, one marathon wasn’t quite enough.

Gina Biggs, 28, has taken the marathon goal one step further, and has managed to complete an impressive 100 marathons.

Gin has been running since 28 October 2012, with her first race being the Preston Guild Half Marathon.

Her very first marathon was on 1 December 2013 in Lancaster, and it has taken her four years and three days to complete an outstanding 100 marathons.

She got the inspiration to try and tackle 100 marathons after seeing other runners wear the club vest ‘100 marathons’ t-shirt.

“My first marathon was on 1 December 2013 in Lancaster.

“I got the idea to try for the 100 marathons when I saw people wearing the 100 club vest, and liked the design of it – I was on 30 by then.”

This year alone Gina has attempted seven marathons in seven days, ten marathons in ten days and 52 marathons in 52 weeks this year.
